Regretted that we opted for this instead of Kimbob’s. Thought we’d save with their Super Savers. But as how the other previous reviews were, and I’m assuming the next to come if they’d ever bothered be, you might as well save your time.
Not worthy for the price. Very disappointing. Sobrang tipid binuhaghag lang yung kanin 4 na kutsara lang ata yun. The beef was nor tender the texture is like a bubblegum and small serving.
Thats the type of Shiro Ramen that you will get for 149 pesos. The noodles is very rancid. I did not eat it after I tasted it. I will never buy again in 8 bowls araneta food court. The staff doesnt care about quality of noodles they are serving.
8 bowls offer cheaper bowl meals but worth it. Whenever I have a pretty long break time, I go here to eat Katsudon or Seafood omelette. They really tastes good and served less than 5minutes. But there are times that the rice is undercooked or overcooked. Nonetheless, it’s worth trying.
I was in the Gateway Mall area and was craving for ramen but did not want to leave the area and having to deal with traffic and parking so decided to try the ramen at the food court. I know that there are a few restaurants in Gateway itself that sell ramen as well but I did not want to pay P300+ for something I was not sure if I would like and I figured for P149, even if it was not that good it would not be too much of a loss. Their bestseller, Kuro ramen, was unavailable so I decided on the Shiro and sprinkled a little chili powder for some heat. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The noodles itself was so-so but the tonkatsu broth was quite good and satisfying. I was actually doing a little jig while eating, which is a sure sign that I am enjoying what I am eating 🙂 I know there are a lot of bad reviews about 8 Bowls but for a fast food/food court type of food I have never had any complaints about their food so far and I have also tried their Katsudon, which was tender, tasty and filling. Going back to the ramen, I have had more expensive ramen before that I did not like at all and could not even finish and this was way better, and for the price, I think it is a win. It is not perfect but if you have a hankering for ramen and do not want to spend too much, I highly recommend it. You may come out smelling like grilled/fried food since you are in a food court but if you do not mind smelling a bit and making the people next to you hungry, then go try it out if you are in the area.
Follow me on Instagram: @astro.adinIt was a gloomy Monday evening and a starving one. We are in Cubao and can’t decide where to eat and we wanted to try something new and almost all food joint in Gateway are tried and reviewed here. We went up to their very crowded foodcourt and we split our orders, I settled for Turks and gave their rice meal a try while my gf ordered Katsudon on 8 Bowls. I have told her about 8 Bowls before and I said I wanted to try their Ramen but that night is not Ramen night for me so I passed. Her order is served in minutes and she loved it so much. He shared it to me to try how good it is for a fastfood joint and it is indeed above the regular joints, in fact if not above, it is at par with expensive Japanese resto’s Katsudon. This one is a winner for its Php109 pricetag.
