Okay. We decided to go for a low-carb dinner and ordered through Food Panda. We ordered a bunch of BBQs and Belly. Now, dine-in experience seems to be different than ordering through delivery, which is a dining experience too and should be known to many. Reviews on Food Panda had one common issue, missing orders. Not incorrect orders, missing orders. I had a hunch (kutob) that it will happen to us. Yes, it did. The BBQs were fine. The Belly was out of sight. We only noticed it because we only ate hours after we ordered.To be fair, the BBQs were good. They were grilled efficiently. Not that burnt, not that raw. It could be better as we like some other restaurants better maybe because the sauce was lacking though. But all of that was trumped by the missing order. You should address this Burnt Bamboo .

This combination features bestsellers recommended by the owners themselves: Isaw with Original Sauce + Pork Barbecue with Teriyaki Sauce + Sausage and Onion with Chimichurri and Rice.Deconstructing the different elements, you get chicken intestines in a savory glaze, and can I just say that I love how it’s cleaned up nicely and cooked just right for that springy texture? It’s on a different level from the usual street food! Next is a classic pork barbecue made sweet with the Japanese Teriyaki sauce. It’s sweet, gingery and good. And finally, something international: slices of frankfurters with onions coated in an earthy chimichurri sauce. Remember to pair it with rice to fill you up nicely.
Burnt Bamboo is one of the restaurants you’ll surely want to spend your night with your friends and have a casual and chill talk. It is located in City Golf Plaza in Ugong, Pasig City. It’s an upscale version of the ihaw-ihaw. Smoking area is available. The restaurant features great and artistic murals.Ambience is relaxing. The red flashy light added a chill vibe to the overall mood.The setup is that you can create your own BBQ grill. First, you need to select the meat/skewer. There’s a lot of options to choose from betamax, isaw, to beef tenderloin and prawn.Second, pick your glaze (additional P25.00/glaze). You can choose one or more from Original, White BBQ, Hot Sauce, Satay, Korean BBQ, Chimichurri, Yogurt, Sweet and Sour, Teriyaki, Gravy, Dirty Mayo, and Nuoc Cham.Finally, if you want to make it a meal, there’s an option to add Salad (P45.00) or Rice (P30.00).Each meal/dish is placed on a small custom-designed bamboo bowl.I like the spicy chicken, pork belly and beef tenderloin. You can see how it’s glazed and cooked evenly, and it has that smokey flavor. It’s best paired with beer/gin!!Price range is affordable! I recommend this!
Burnt Bamboo is more of the meat concept. If CargoFish serves White Meat and Fish, Burnt Bamboo is on the grilled side. So they serve Barbeque, Isaw, and other good choices.Ambiance – 5.0/5.0You will be welcomed by a very artistic vibe that is gonna bring you to another place — from the interiors to the murals and neon lights present. Also, I love the simplicity of the menu. I did not even need to ask if this is per piece or whatsoever because it is all clear. And lastly, it is really convenient especially to those who smoke because there is a smoking area available.Service – 5.0/5.0Everyone is very accommodating and easy to approach. Every crew is attentive and makes sure that all your orders are complete. Also, they do know what they serve and even the difference of each so, this is really a plus for me.Food – 5.0/5.0I was able to try the Pork Isaw and Pork BBQ. You have an option to have it as is or make it a meal which is really good because not everyone can live without rice. I would come back for more meat.
I don’t usually pass by Julia Vargas so it was an opportunity to see the area when I was invited here. Burnt bamboo and Cargo Fish are actually 2 restaurants in 1. I actually liked how the place looked, it has this chill vibe to it especially if you are to include the good music in the background. Drinks offered are also cheaper than usual prices which makes this a good place to hang out with friends. I find the open area near the road side relaxing, you can look at cars passing by while talking with other people. As for the food, I find their barbeque flavors a little different and I think there is still room for improvement in that.
