I would choose to come back here with my family. The experience is definitely worth it!
This would’ve been a good place if they had everything on the menu. They didn’t have beer. Not one brand of beer as advertised. I ordered Tsing Tao, San Miguel and both were our of stock. They also didn’t have the Agedashi tofu when I ordered. This was Sunday lunch and we were the only ones eating. The tempura was slightly over cooked but forgivable. The rest of the shabu shabu was ok. It was worth a try but I really hope they’d manage the place a lot better.
My favorite place for Shabu Shabu. We used to frequent the Eastwood location but they closed, happy that we have a branch open close to home. I enjoy the fact that they have a spicy broth option. The vegetables are always fresh and they always give a good amount. Sometimes the mini vegetable set is good enough. We try to visit this location in hopes that our support will keep it open.
I went out to try Thousand Cranes with a friend last night and we both had the Assorted Meat set, no other side dishes or drinks aside from house water as we wanted to focus on the shabu shabu itself. The place itself was clean and spacious, not very cluttered. There was no background music as well which was good because I would be able to hear my companion and be able to appreciate the food more. They have very good service, and I was able to even request for more broth for my pot which is very good since not a lot of shabu shabu restaurants do that for free. I do recommend however that the noodles should be served on a separate plate from the vegetables as the noodles are normally eaten last in a hotpot and the customer asked to be given a choice between the udon or the rice vermicelli. The food in itself was good, they provided good ingredients for the shabu shabu, the meat did not exhibit any signs of rancidity, the vegetables provided needed more than just leafy greens. The addition of crabsticks to the hotpot was mildly questionable as the boiling hot broth can break the crabstick apart easily, but all in all both my companion and I were satisfied with our meal. The overall expenditure for both of us was only P 1,140.00, which for a shabu shabu restaurant was very reasonable.I would recommend trying it at least once as this is subject to personal preference and opinion.
