The name of the business is a risk in itself because people would expect their Kare-kare to be awesome.True enough, their flagship Kare-kare is really good, but I can’t help but notice that it’s not as special as I have expected it to be. Service was prompt and good despite of the rush hour (other tables though, are getting angry), pero as far as I am concerned, I had no issues with the service.This place would have merited a 4 or 4.5 from me if it wasn’t for the expectation I had prior to stepping in to this place.Overall, it’s a good restaurant and worth coming back for.
If there’s only a negative rating, I would give it to them. I had the worst dining out experience with this restaurant. Their flagship Kare-kare is not anyway near special even ordinary, what you can buy in carinderias and food courts are even better. Their Sinigang are so watery without the tangy taste and the shrimp are so small and very few. We are unable to find where is the belly in their Sinigang na Bangus Belly, it seems that they only put the lower half of a small bangus. My brother ordered Pinaputok na tilapia asking if that is similar to the Pinaputok na Plapla that is fried, when the dish came it’s steam tilapia with some veggies in a foil. There’s only 1 waiter serving, so the glasses are not enough, the water refill is slow, if we need something there’s no one to be found. Bad service and bad food combined. We paid 3k and I was not even half full. I really don’t give this kind of reviews unless I am in complete awe or very disappointed. In their case, I was greatly disappointed.
My family and I loved the food here! We ordered the Oxtail Kare-Kare, Sinigang na Bangus Belly, and Calamares. The tastiest Kare-Kare I had (my mom’s Kare-Kare is still the number 1 though haha) and my mom was the one who told us that we should eat here. The Bangus Belly Sinigang was also tasty although I hope they could add more of the belly and lessen the soup. The Calamares wasn’t exactly hot when it was served to us, but the squid is tender.We love the ambiance inside. It’s a house-turned-to-resto type so there’s really the homey feel to it. It’s a small space and from what I have seen, people come here in large groups. The parking space is small but they have an additional space beside the restaurant. The staff is attentive and were able to provide good service.Will definitely come back here again!
Nakakasira ng araw sa kakontian yung serving ng kare-kare. Masarap sana eh. Pero for 410 pesos, isang pirasong buntot na kalahating platito lang ata laki, tas dalawang maliit na laman ng baka. Nakakainsulto??? Tapos nung magdadagdag kami ng inihaw na liempo kasi mukang bitin yung kare-kare, edi it’s been 5-10mins since umorder kami ng liempo, lumapit sakin yung isang waiter tas sabi wag nalang daw ituloy yung order kasi ang tagal lutuin. Whut?? Will never come back or recommend unless I hear changes.
I know it’s just me and my partner eating at the place but it’s no excuse to leave the premises, my partner had to shout and knock on doors to call a waiter for drinks and the bill.Also, they claimed the kare-kare we had is oxtail kare-kare but I know it’s not, cubes yung cut ng beef.Ang panghi din pagpasok mo sa location, dun sa outdoor dining.
Totally NOT recommending this place.I brought my family for dinner here cos the name is so promising. My dad loves kare kare so I thought of trying this resto.I was very dissapointed cos it did not live up to my expectation yet the food in the menu is expensive.My dads kare kare is better than what they served.Lumpiang Shanghai taste very ordinary, nothing special.Pancit is too salty and the servings of their tokwat baboy is like 50 pesos tokwat baboy from a carinderia.Serving portions is just good for one to two person yet thr price is like for a group meal.I regret dining in this place and with my bill.. I should have triee somewhere else, im sure way cheaper but more decious in Barrio Fiesta.The ambiance is like a typical house setup.. the dining area is really small..Totally NOT recommended.Food: 2/5Serving Portions: 1/5Ambiance: 3/5Staff: 4/5Service: 4/5
This place should be named as House of Bullshit. The utensils are filthy, the place was dark and uninviting. The food was HORRIBLE and DRY and COLD and the money was not worth for the food that they serve. Please don’t go to this place
