A serendipitous find, as we were initially targeting another restaurant in the same area. It was closed, though, and Mel’s Tea House looked interesting enough (and we were starving, besides!).Standard Chinese fare – dimsum, noodles, rice toppings and more. The homemade chili garlic smells divine, but is more garlic than chili.The dimsum spareribs are addicting – sticky and savory-sweet. The lechon kawali was super crispy, the accompanying sauce had hints of 5-spice. Bihon lechon had generous servings, with huge cuts of vegetables and lechon pieces providing a texture contrast to the noodles.My daughter particularly enjoyed the Camaron Rebosado and siomai.Piece de resistance: Garlic Fried Chicken – unmistakably drenched in butter, its aroma whetting our appetite. Flavor-wise it’s alright, smells better than it tastes.Service is super slow, so consider that. Most items are cooked to order, and if there are few customers you can expect your order to arrive in half an hour (earliest). If the place is full, expect a wait time of at least 45 minutes.There were delivery motorcycles outside, so best have your food delivered if you have that option.
