Have been looking for a quality Portuguese food experience. A friend recommended this place and despite it’s modest decor and remote location, serves delicious food. Far away from the tourist spots, it’s still busy especially on a Sunday lunch. Nothing fancy or Michelin quality, but tasty generous portions that were well cooked. Tried the octopus Polvo lagareiro, prawns and their special roast pumpkin dessert (very tasty and unusual). Not too keen on most Portuguese food (usually too rustic, and plain for my palate) but this place shows that simple food can be well prepared and delicious. Would give it 4.5* but rounded down as 5* only for exceptional.
