In the parking lot of the interior street of a neighbourhood behind the airport is a restaurant that serves very traditional portuguese food. I wasnt feeling too well so I couldnt totally enjoy the food but the place was packed by 1 PM. We decided to wait for the table as the food smelt heavenly and we finally got our table. There was an option of a Pork dish or a Fish dish in the Daily menu. Since I cant stand fish I was ready to go for the Favvas which was a pork dish cooked in green beans. As soon as I ordered, the owner came over to my Portuguese friend asking about where I was from and if he could make my meal more enjoyable. Since both the owner and my friend decided I need to try the dish before ordering it, the owner brought over a small sample of the dish just so I knew how it would taste. I was totally blown overby this kindness from the owner. Post the tasting session I was sure I would eat the Favvas for lunch. The dish was very well made, the beans also tasted exceptional. I think the place was a bit too stuffy so half way through my meal, I had to end it. The beans reminded me of some very traditional south Indian dish that my mother cooks extremely well. It was almost like a walk through memory lane. After the main dish, I ordered for the pudding which was also very tasty and perfectly cooled. Post the dinner the owner had a long conversation with my portuguese friend about how I liked my meal. I loved the treatment, I loved the food and I loved the service. So am just pulling a half point for the stuffiness of the place. A must visit place !!
