About

Histria Mesa (History at the table) intends to recover and reintroduce in Braga traditional recipes made in convents, monasteries and private homes, between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. We intend to promote the preservation of the region's traditions, highlighting the culinary history of the city of Braga, making known these ancient flavors to the people and to all those who visit our city. The delicacies produced here take the visitors on a journey into the past, making known the history of the city and the region, tasting the typical sweets produced from high-quality ingredients, being faithful to the traditional methods and historical records. In Rua do Raio, number 6, a cozy homelike room allows guests to taste these ancient flavors, watching both their preparation and learning the particular history of each. This space can also be used for holding workshops and cultural events, as well as a place for reading and study, with free Wi-fi.
