On the ground floor of a 50s building in Bom Sucesso, Boavista's area, Lupin Vegetarian Restaurant is the business child of Chef Jeronimo Pinto de Abreu and Sommelier Andreia Santos, also a Hotel Management grad.Although they were both born in Porto, they lived in London for three years, where they met and decided to give life to this project.The homesickness, combined with the realization of an untapped market in Porto, made them take a step forward and bring home their vast experience and passion, giving wings to a dream they have longed for.Holding 19 years of experience, Chef Jeronimo Pinto de Abreu graduated from ESCF-Ferrand, the French School of Culinary Arts, in Paris. He then headed several kitchens throughout Portugal: Degusto, O Comercial and Pop Kitchen in Porto; Hotel Tivoli, Lagos Restaurants, in the Algarve, and Aquafalls Spa Hotel, in Vieira do Minho, the first Hotel Rural Spa 5* in Portugal.During his stay in London, Chef Pinto de Abreu headed the renowned Portal Restaurant and Bar and the vegetarian Coach and Horses, Gastro Pub, in Soho.More than the chance to offer haute cuisine at an affordable price, opening a restaurant like Lupin is an opportunity to show that it is possible to provide a high class kitchen, using a selection of high quality vegetarian and vegan products only.All meals served to our customers are nutritionally balanced and complete, always bearing in mind the taste and enjoyment of a healthy meal.There are always vegan and gluten-free options and a major concern at Lupin is to use primarily local, seasonal, and organic produce.The dishes vary daily for lunch (in an economic lunch menu) and change periodically at dinner with a la carte service.Because of its strong environmental awareness, this restaurant seeks to minimize waste production, energy and water consumption. This is accomplished through small gestures, environmentally good practices: the use of organic cleaning products, LED bulbs, recycling, and reutilization.The selection of wines at Lupin is unique, being made of biological and national options only. In this selection also features the famous Port wine that is also biological and it is available in the restaurant by the glass. This selection is in charge of Andreia Santos who is a trained sommelier with years of experience in both Portugal and the UK.The long experience and exquisite training of the owners makes Lupin a cozy restaurant, with a seal of quality and excellence.At Lupin, people are welcomed to try out new dishes, flavours, and products.With its comfortable, casual and cozy atmosphere, with a friendly and efficient service, Lupin is appropriate for a dinner for two, a meal with friends and family, or for an informal business meeting.
