  Sopa de peixe boa, faltava um pouco de picante. Marisco fresco, bem confeccionado, muito bom. Pudim Abade de Priscos típico e excelente. Atendimento muito simpático e eficiente.

  We asked a couple friends, which ones the best marisqueira in town and it’s pretty unanimous: A Marisqueira de Matosinhos. Seafood restaurants have been around in Matosinhos for decades, you can definitely see that on their interior decor, very simple though. I had a clear idea of what I wanted to order and didn’t really need the menu. We started off with some natural oysters with lemon. Clearly, those were the best I have eaten in a very long time, huge and very juicy! The amêijoas à bulhão pato where excellent, the white wine sauce is divine. Just a minor issue, they get cold very fast, because they are served on a big plate instead of in a pot. We asked for a sapateira, which is showed to you before they boil it. We were 5, so we picked the really big one. And man, let me tell you, the size of those tweezers is just fenomenal. There is so much crab meat, almost the size of a chicken leg. The filling of the crab was very well seasoned. They serve toasted bread with butter with it, which unfortunately is not included in the heavy price. When you enter the restaurant, some of the seafood is exposed, so that you get an idea of the size. Thats where we chose our medium sized shrimp. It’s the best to peel off and the amount of flesh is great. Dipped in their homemade mayonnaise, it’s a great starter. Service initially was a bit cold and rough. Quickly, the waiters got to know our type of customer and started making jokes and were very helpful. Always checking, if our plates were full of shells and switched them. If you’re as passionate as I am about active eating and if you don’t mind a little dirt on your hands (or even your arms and shirt), this is clearly your type of restaurant. Sure, you pay the quality by grabbing deep into your pocket. On the other hand, you can definitely taste the freshness of the seafood, which makes every cent worth the experience.

  Na minha opinião, é a melhor marisqueira de Matosinhos. O marisco é muito bom e o recheio de sapateira (na torrada ainda quente) é simplesmente maravilhoso!

  Marisqueira com o melhor serviço e atendimento! Não é barato mas a qualidade nota-se como é o caso das omeletes de camarão que levam camarões fresquissimos de vários géneros ou o caso do prato do dia a terça (bacalhau à Brás) que é todo feito na hora,Grande destaque para todo o marisco (especialmente caranguejo real) peixe e grelos.O recheio de sapateira é bom mas enjoativo

  Melhor marisco do país, de longe! Excelente serviço, não é barato mas vale sempre a pena. O marisco está sempre fresco e confecionado duma forma que caracteriza esta casa. Não há melhor!

  A must go place when in Porto! Any seafood dish here is a feast, you can’t go wrong. To get the best experience, order several different items and share them. Very fresh material, big portions, excellent service from helpful and knowledgeable staff. We had a truly beautiful evening at this lovely restaurant.
