When we’re in the mood for rice at the Villaggio we almost always go check out Cactus Cabana. The taste is good and the serving is big so most of the time we have some food for take out. Service is also fast.
I have been to this restaurant several times just for the lamb chops. It is perfectly grilled, with a perfect blend of flavourful spices. I have tried the mutton and chicken cubes, it’s taste is average. The quantity is enough for two people. The nan bread served with the kababs are freshly baked and very soft. The service is very fast and the staff are very courteous and friendly.
Tried there Arabic Chicken Shawarma comes with small portion of French fries. Shawarma was ok but not for a repeat though. Preparation was quick I didn’t had to wait long. Will try something else next time not the shawarma.
Not a bad place for a meal actually. I love their shawarmas btw. Very filling and good/different taste. I tried their kebabs as well. Theyre okay. The thing that brings me here is that its healthier option than the rest of the outlets.
We ordered mixed mezza and fish majboos. Mixed appetizer was just okay. I have had much better mixed appetizers in other Arabic restaurants. Fish majboos was different. Rice had good flavours. Loved the rice. The batter fried fish on top of the majboos rice had become soft when we got our order. Something different from the usual restaurants
We try to eat here when in Villagio as the other options in Villagio (except for wrap-it) I feel are very high in calories/fat/carbs. Our go-to option at Cactus Cabana usually is the Shish Tawook Plates with humus/yohurt dip and fattoush/green salad. The service is quick for a grill item and the quantity is ok for the price given that this restaurant is in a mall.
Went and ordered a plate of mix grill from cactus cabana and hummus as sides. We had to wait around 10 minutes to receive our order even though it wasn’t rush hour. And when we did receive the plate of mix grill the lamb chop on it was barely cooked and we had to have a literal tug of war with it to get a taste of a bite. So was disappointed and put off. We had to spend a lot more energy trying to consume it than from it.
