Utterly disappointed. Couldn’t take kids to the beach as it was raining out so spent the afternoon here with friends, thinking we could have a light lunch whilst the kids painted. The food selection is limited to 3 sandwiches, and varied options of drinks and desserts. The presentation was lovely, but the sandwiches were full of mayo, and little else. The waffles were hard and doughy. The staff were apprehensive of the children. The older kids chose blank canvases and the staff were really tight with paints (we had to constantly ask for top ups as they put so little at a time). The younger ones chose a canvas with a print that just needed painting in. These came with tiny pots of paint in primary colours in the pack. I asked the lady helping us if we could use paints of other colours from the store and we were told they had to first finish the little pots that came in the pack! The setting is beautiful and so it’s sad as we thought this could be a place of inspiration and a positive vibe. All the small canvases- blank and printed- were priced at 50qr each. Imagine our horror when we saw the same printed ones at a stationery store for 6qr! We knew the price of the canvas before the kids started painting and were fine to pay for it, but it was a bitter pill to swallow seeing the same thing at a fraction of the price elsewhere given the experience in the cafe was so stiff. Tired of extortionate prices in Doha built around experiences that don’t deliver.
