Decided to sit down for a coffee and something to eat and I wish we didn’t! Ordered a latte with almond or soy milk as I’m vegan, the waiter said yes sure, the coffee came with regular milk and when I complained, the other waiter was rude and said we only have regular milk despite the fact the other waiter confirmed the soy milk. The waffle had a bad after taste and the fruit was old and tasted sour! The arabic tea came cold and the staff didn’t even bother to rectify the bad order/service. I don’t know how they are still in business? Maybe because of the location? Definitely not because of the food or the service.
Wow
Chac’late is a good place for desserts and salads. Nice place to chill with friends. Drinks a bit expensive. The place is good during winter.
The good part:I actually wanted to give them 3.5 but I don’t have 3.5 available, giving them 4 will be injustice! 5 will be too much!I actually loved the idea of their decoration, seating arrangements and everything elseQuick service, beautiful interior, staff is attentive.Food is delicious, mojitos are good and desserts are very nice. Specially the honey cake with chocolate. Easy to find. Outdoor and indoor seating. The problem:Way too expensive and portion is very small. Not even filling for one person. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars because of the price and portion.
Ordered – hazelnut latte , salmon avo sandwich , grilled chicken quiche Wining point – amazing ambiance and during winters outside seating is fantastic Grilled chicken quiche was winner , delicious chicken fillings , the cream sauce and the soft crispy crust was delectable . The drizzling of baby inions and capers were very good.Salmon avo sandwich was okayish Hazelnut latte was super though a bit sweet for my taste.Whining point – This type of places r located in secluded area which is not used by public commonly. Unless u r a frequent visitor of Katara u would not notice these places easily
I have been to this place with a group of friends some very long time ago, I don’t recall ordering anything which is why I haven’t reviewed the place till now. It wasn’t until I was turned away from the Italian place at Katara, half an hour before their official closing time, that I decided to come into ChacLate and try their honey cake that I keep hearing about. Apparently, it’s their best seller and the crown jewel of their menu. I started with some food, coffee, and then the cake. Food was alright, coffee was good, but the cake was a little disappointing. Although the presentation of it was fantastic, the cake itself was dry on the inside! Honey cakes are supposed to be moist, especially the sponge part of it. I’ve had much better honey cakes elsewhere, but I would still come to this place for the nice atmosphere. The outdoor seating area was wonderful, giving the nice weather these days. The staff were nice , kind, but inattentive. I spent some 20 minutes or so, after finishing my food, trying to get their attention so they bring my cake. It al worked out in the end. The place is worth visiting for sure.
