Al Matbakh is one of the best Indian restaurants in Doha, and definitely best in Souq Waqif area! Many appetizers must try! Amazing lasse drink.

Who thinks to review chain restaurants b4 goin? Not me n it was a huge mistake. This place is a joke!Am honestly surprised a place like this is stil open. Our grp of 9 had gone in for dinner last week.Sat down n literally waited for 20mins b4 v had to get up n ask if sum1 was even goin to take our order!Water came but not served into the glasses.Food came in aftr ages but without plates.By the tym plates came, food got cold.Quantity of all items were super less!Taste was pathetic.Worst was the chckn Biryani, wich was loaded with cardamoms ONLY!Wen v askd the waiter to serve food,he ignored us.I’ve never felt so uncomfortable eating food b4.Complete waste of time. There is nothing to njoi here.If u want a relaxin meal,u hav a better chance of it at McD!Am sure sum1 frm the restaurnt wil giv sum xcuse for this shockin service n meal, but thr really is no xcuse wen u treat payin customers wth such contempt.

We went there yesterday for the Valentine’s day set menu. The view was exciting. Apparently, the food was disappointing. The starter kebabs and the the welcome drink were fine. The biriyani did not even taste like one and the chicken was not cooked properly. What they served as paneer butter masala was so bland and it didn’t even taste good as a plain tomato puree. The paneer pieces were hard to chew and when we were explained that they didn’t have a North Indian chef. Dessert was ok. Should give a thought before visiting second time.

Ambiance – 8/10 : good ambiance with cornish view. The TV screen in the center of the restaurant distractsFood – 7/10 : above average food. Crispy baby corun and dahi kabab is a must try. Thandai is good. In main course dal makhni is good and other items(Palak Mushroom and Karhai Paneer) are above average. Al Mathbakh is not a place for desserts. The restaurant should get some more options.Staff/Service – 5/10 : Staff is good and friendly. Few of the members are over friendly which is irritating. Service is just fine, but no attention to details. Cloth tissues was not provided on all tables, additional plate request was fulfilled after 3 reminders, main course served without spoons etc.
