We wanted to visit Al Hazm mall and were curious of the choices of restaurants it offered, so we chose Sasso, a so called Italian restaurant, with a good decor (no doubt about it) but distasteful Italian food. We have been to other Italian restaurants in Doha and never once have we felt terrible after eating there. It would be a disgrace to the Italian cuisine also, having been to Italy over 10 times, We have an ability to appreciate good Italian food. The order comprised of:Pasta Al Forno – served in a fancy brass/copper dish was mediocre in taste. I’ve no idea what were the ingredients used since well cooked Italian dish has a unique quality of allowing a guest to identify each herb, base sauce and spice, therefore that particular pasta was disappointing.Zuppa Di Funghi Al Tartufo- First of all, if any soup were to be served with croutons, it must be crunchy for heaven’s sake not soggy!! And for some reason all the dishes we ordered had no salt, was there some shortage in stock?Eggplant pasta/antipasti (I’ve no idea of what it was): this looked more like lasagne with eggplant as layers and baked ricotta cheese. Honestly after I ate this I felt sick, don’t know what was in it or how it was prepared, it was just bad.Lastly, the staff, I don’t know why they behave like they want you to rush out as soon as you step in, one would talk to us with contempt, which was weird and uncalled for.For the price we paid, if the service and food were at similar levels, there would have been minimal discontent but it would be least expected from this place ever!
I ordered Pizza La Dolce Vita which is a chicken pizza with jalapeños, and Penne All’ Arrabiata and it’s shrimp pasta. The food is good, the price was a bit too high. I enjoyed the food but I was a bit irritated about the price because I could get the same quality of food on a much cheaper price, like the food isnt that special to be that expensive. Overall the experience was good, but I won’t go there again.
Love it this amazing restaurant, amazing service great staff with very friendly atmosphere, the food it’s amazing you must try specially the saffron risotto and the seafood pasta, my daughter had her birthday and we got a special cake from with Happy Birthday Message ❤️ Can’t wait to be back in Qatar Thank you Sasso
I really recommend it for its food quality, service and atmosphere. They have a special approach to welcoming their clients and making sure they are comfortable.Happy with the experience, worth the money!
