During winter you can never go wrong with Layali Al Qahira if you are craving Egyptian food.Staff are friendly and even non-arabica speaker knows all the dish’s Egyptian names. We’ve tried Hawawshi, Mombar, Pasta Bashamel and mixed grill. Everything was delicious except the Mixed grill as it was not tinder at all.The breakfast menu here is way better than lunch. If you are craving the traditional Egyptian breakfast ( Foul, Falafe and Eggplants ) you really have to try them out here. It is super delicious and surprisingly very cheap.Definitely recommended during winter. However, if you have cravings during summer they have a nice indoor area where you can enjoy all of that.

The prices is dramatically increased without any better service in exchange. We ordered water and found flies inside the cubs, we informed the waiter and he take no action just changed the Cubs.
I went there once long time back it was very nice atmosphere and food was fresh staff was helpful prices were resonable
Ordered the hummus and Fattah Lamb Shank. Absolutely melt off the bone delicious! We finished every last crumb till stuffed.Relaxed environment, great for groups. Would highly recommend!
Reasonably priced food. Hummus was just alright. Shisha got over in half hour. Good ambience with outside seating and terrace seating Available.
Ambience – 4/5 Food – 5/5 Service – 4/5 VFM – 4/5 Parking – YesIt was my first day in Arabia and my hosts wanted to give me a taste of authentic Arabian food, though strictly within the realm of vegetarian. And the place they chose was Layali Al Qahira, an Egyptian restaurant located at Souq Waqif. The ambience is decent and the place was done up well. We took a table in the balcony overlooking the Souq. There was a pleasant Arabic music at just the right volume playing all the time.We started off with the cold mixed mezzeh, a platter that offers a sampling of the best Egyptian fare – homos, fetoush, babaghanouj, tabuleh and tehina. The tehina is a dip make with sesame seeds, vinegar and garlic and the homos was served with this and olive oil. I also enjoyed the babaghanouj, which is marinated eggplant/brinjals.The fetoush was unlike anything I had back home – maybe this is the way it should have always tasted. It was served with baladi bread, the traditional Egyptian roti. Hot off the tandoor, this mouth watering, soft, roti reminded me of the unrefined wheat rotis I had in a village back in India many years ago.We also ordered Falafel, which is a deep fried beans patty. We got both the plain version and the one with a stuffing of egg. Also got some egyptian rice, which was flavourful and had a good texture.Washed it all down with a mint lemon drink, which had a really generous amount of mint in it.Great food, very good portion sizes, excellent ambience and location. I must say I had a wonderful introduction to Egyptian cuisine.
