Came here for breakfast on a slow Saturday – only one other table was taken. We were well greeted and seated. There aren’t many breakfast choices to choose from, so choosing didn’t take too long. Their chocolate is one of the best I’ve ever tried. They have a lot of varieties and a lot of them are just divine.We ordered profiteroles, waffles, and the connoli con gelahto.For drinks, we ordered a macchiato, latte and cappuccino.The profiteroles with the chocolate sauce were really good. A healthy portion, the texture was good, slightly cold center and Laderach milk chocolate on top made everything taste so good together.The waffles were harder than they should have been and the portion about half of what is served elsewhere. The fruits on top were nice, but a no go for this dish.The connoli con gelahto are very similar to churros. I was really looking forward to this dish but was really disappointed. The outer later was fried to a nice crisp, but the inside was very undercooked and was still liquidy. There was an overwhelming taste of fried oil that covered everything else. When we brought this up to the waitress, she said that this was how it was supposed to be and that this dish is not one of their best sellers – should probably just remove it from the menu then. Needless to say, we didn’t finish that dish.The drinks were all good, however, we were given some cheap and bland sugar biscuits on the side rather than the chocolate that was pictured on the menu.Overall, the profiteroles saved this review. I don’t think I will be coming back as the relatively expensive and un-mastered dishes still need some work. If I do come back, it will be for some chocolate.
