We took a weekend stay-cation at the Ezdan Palace hotel and had a chance to dine at Palermo. Even though being a Thursday night (+ Valentine’s Day), the place was nearly empty. We were ushered in by a very pleasant waitress to our seats near the window. Ambience of the place is like that of any other fine dining restaurant. We took our time to go through the menu and ordered Beef Carpaccio for starters, an Al Pollo pizza & Slow Braised Lamb Shank as mains and an Orange Zesty Tiramisu for dessert. The Beef Carpaccio was a regular affair, we have had better. But, the lamb shank was soft, juicy and the meat complimented well with the polenta (best dish of the night). As for the pizza it was too cheesy and had no flavor. Finally, the tiramisu was above average with its special orangey zing.Overall a neutral experience.
