About
Babel is a new unique restaurant both in terms of cuisine and interior. It is located in the very heart of Moscow - between Sadovoe Koltso and Smolenskaya embankment - very close to famous Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. It serves beloved Odessa (city and seaport in South Ukraine) food in very exquisite way, so the place does not hold the ambience of traditional Odessa restaurant with vodka galore, rumpus and loud talks, but is very elegant in a European Michelin star restaurant manner but with genuine scent of Odessa cookery. Chef of the restaurant Alena Komar is an Odessa born and bred, she knows exactly what a genuine Odessa dish should taste like. Whatever you order - delicious farshmak, traditional "like grandma's" sardelle collops, bullhead or beef Stroganoff - you will get the very right and traditional taste. The restaurant also serves european cuisine dishes, in-house-baked desserts and bread(there are more than 6 types of bread), custom made cakes, offers a wide choice of fine wines and spirits. Many traditional products like Black Sea fish, or ukrainian lard and many else are indeed brought from the famous Odessa market Privoz.
