EmBURGer restaurant story Did you know that the first burgers were invented by merchants Ivan, Petr and Ilya Dubrovin? It happened exactly in this tavern on Pokrovsky Prospect in Yekaterinburg in 1788. It was so called The 1 number tavern where not only food but lodging provided as well. The table included also veinovy vodka, grape wines, English beer, light beer, coffee, tea, chocolate and tobacco". There for the first time rolls with chopped beef (shortly BURGs) appeared became very popular especially with beer. They put also pickles, cheese and juicy tomatoes on their BURGs . Years later visitors from Europe took away the idea of those strange and tasty rolls,which later became known as hamburgers and burgers. The EmBURGer restaurant is devoted to old prerevolutionary Yekaterinburg and restaurateur traditions of that time. We tried to recreate surprisingly tasty dishes of the old city just for you.
