Cat of Kazan Tavern means sincere conversations and Russian cuisine with Kazan hospitality. Cat of Kazan got its name from the general image of the cats from Kazan appointed for the service as the Imperial Guards by the Empress Elizabeth of Russia in 1745. About fifty descendants of the cats taken from Kazan are still in the official service in the premises of the State Hermitage Museum. The tavern is located in the ground floor of an ancient mansion a cultural property site. The air of the past ages is created with carefully restored vaulted brick walls, old photos and paintings of cats, cozy leather sofas and oak-wood finishing.
