Try the noodle place at sommerset 313. Service is fast and efficient, but need to be more welcoming and warm.Food order soup noodle, congee, fried noodle, roastbpork. For me the flavor is not rich enough. The congee has more flavor to my taste bud though.Notes pickle and towels is charged.

Feeling sluggish n tired after a long day (of shopping n melting in the heat), we stuck close to dwntwn orchard for dinner n a rub down. Dry scallop egg white fried rice 2/5, flat tasteless bland plate of steamed rice really, the only saving grace was it wasnt oily. Beef brisket noodle 2.75/5, nothing much to say except it served the purpose of filling us up. Ok it was pleasant enough. Abalone dry noodle 2.75/5, as above except for some low qual abalone slices. All noodles n rice needed spicing up ourselves, meaning vinegar soy sauce n chilli. Pipa tofu 3.25/5, easily the highlight of our dinner. Proof that they can cook, these guys. Right ratio of starch/flour to ingredients; prawns minced pork fish n of course tofu. But it was shaped into rectangular instead of being ‘pipa’ (some chinese acoustic guitar) shaped. Crispy fish skin 2.75/5, looks better than it tasted. Too thick n too crispy. BEWARE that they charge the nuts pickles n wet towels placed on your table! Not free.

Delicious barbecue and roast pork. We shared a mixed pork rice set and a bowl of wonton noodles soup. Both were excellent. Simply delicious. Good fast service too. We loved the young papaya pickle and braised peanut. However, they charge the appetizers at SGD4 for it and charge SGD.90 for the wet towel. $$$

Mak’s Noodle has finally met its match!Noodle Place has mastered the art of noodle and soup making to face Mak’s head on. They even match the high prices!Must try their wonton noodles or any other noodles if you ever ventured into this joint. Store is brightly lit. Service is actually quite fast too. Line is long during holidays and meal times.
