The soya sauce chicken in this branch is waaaay better than the one they serve in the Melbourne branch. We also spotted Mr Chan who was very busy in the kitchen! The queue was not that long but the waiting time for the orders took a bit of time but it was worth it!

We were recommended to try this spot if in chinatown. There was a queue going in. You order, grab a table and enjoy. Its reasonably priced and they have been awarded that michelin star, for a street food hawker thats something. The chicken is super tender and yhe pork just as yummy. Simple meals but packed with flavour. A definite must try.

Hong Kong soya sauce chicken rice. One of the best chicken dishes I had in Singapore and much much better than the one in Melbourne branch. Chicken is so nice and tender.

I had to visit Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle while on a recent trip to Singapore. Famous for being the cheapest Michelin starred restaurant in the world the 1 Star restaurant was actually quite disappointing, having read up a bit before the trip I didn’t expect fine dining from the former food stall now restaurant though what I did expect was fresh, flavorsome and well balance street food. I opted for the speciality, soya sauce chicken and rice and paired it with a local Tiger beer. It wasn’t very busy when I arrived and I only queued for a short time, the service is very efficient as I guess it would be considering how busy I’ve heard it gets. In take away style I ordered my meal and waited for my number to be called before grabbing a seat at one of the many tables. In my opinion the food was mediocre, perhaps because of the expectation I did expect more. The flavors were good though not well balanced and it was sloppily presented(I attempted to clean up the plate before taking my pic). Maybe I just got in on a bad day or perhaps becoming commercial has led to Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle losing their spark, whatever it is my experience left a lot to be desired.

Waited about 30 minutes and ordered the soy sauce chicken with hor fun. Chicken was soft and flavour alright, dish was cheap at $2.5 sgd but I personally don’t feel it’s worth the wait and once was enough for me.

Infamous for the one star Michelin given to the unsuspecting headcook in this soy sauce chicken place. Joined the long lunch line that moves pretty fast actually. One trick is to order and pay at the automatic machine to get the order number, then just wait up for your number to be called. Ordered the famous soy sauce chicken and wasn’t disappointed. Chicken was perfectly tender and soft with moist meat and subtle soy sauce taste covering the skin.

The first Michelin star restaurant that I’ve dined in. Its also known as a famous hawker in Singapore. It took us sometime searching for this resto, we came all the way from Geylang where we stayed. Its all worth the search and the wait in line. Line starts to build up as it opens, so better be there the earliest you can. I’m from the Philippines and they’ve just recently opened here. I haven’t tried it yet, but definitely will do the soonest.
