Although there are some misses, the food is generally nice. Service is at attentive. However the second and third serving of foods took quite long. They could have been more flexible when we asked for just one serving of each dessert to try out before the rest decided.

Amazing authentic Chinese cuisine. The service is excellent and the staff is great. We went there for a late dinner and were the last table to be served, still the food wasn’t rushed and the staff was super nice

The food was good. 4 very different people from all over with different tastes and everyone enjoyed the flavours and quality of food served up to them. We did the Dim Sum on a Saturday and it was great value. The service was explained as buffet (eat all you can) in an a la cart format. Ordered, prepared fresh and served to you at your table. The one reason I may not visit again though is the lacking atmosphere. If you’re a table of 8 and family or business then this place is ideal But for smaller groups of friends there maybe better places.

Hai Tien Lou has some of the best dim sum in Singapore. On Saturdays there is an a-la-carte dim sum buffet brunch with a large menu. Items like har gao and siew mai are standard, but here the skin is thin with large fresh juicy prawn. Similarly the char siew bao is made with great skill with the smooth fluffy skin containing char siew which is not to sweet. Various stir fry dishes in the menu using thick fresh grouper slices, a very tender beef brisket, and authentic sweet and sour pork that is made without ketchup (unlike the typical local versions). Dessert is a custard with birds nest. For the birthday, they provided longevity buns served on a plate with a calligraphic ‘shou’ written with gold powder.

We were seriously caught off-guard. As a couple, we have a tendancy to order for lunch, half a dozen dim sum and 2 or 3 a la carte dishes. For some reason, we cut back on our dim sum orders during this visit and only placed one a la carte order. A good thing we did cos it was plenty! Their dim sum portions are huge by today’s standards. Sorry guys but maybe after this review, the restaurant might review it and reduce them. Guess we lucked out.Flavours are very decent. If you like the standard fare served by the traditional cantonese restaurants, Hai Tien Lo delivers. I hadn’t been here for over 2 decades. It’s different now, perhaps a change that allows itself to be more accessible to the masses.Teas were delicious too. Overall, this is very traditional, elegant fare that wiuld surely please most palates.

Had lunch here and tried its roasted suckling pig, manggo prawn, black pepper beef, sauted asparagus, fried rice and seafood eefu noodle. Generally the food tasted good, especially the suckling pig and the prawn. The pork meat was succulent with thin crispy skin and the prawn was big, fresh and crunchy in a sweet sour manggo sauce. Its eefu noodle was tasty, too.

Came to this dinner for a family reunion. The restaurant was part of the Pan Pacific hotel and we chose this as we were staying at the hotel. The menu was as comprehensive as menus go for Chinese restaurants. The wait person recommended all the chosen dishes and her recommendations were faultless. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and looked classy. The food complimented and matched the ambience.Overall a very enjoyable evening.
