I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. The dishes were mostly vegan, with a few vegetarian options, and packed with flavour in every bite. I was particularly impressed by the ‘meatballs’, a teriyaki mushroom ball served on a lettuce leaf, but also really enjoyed the rice paper rolls with brown rice vermicelli, as well as the cauliflower maki roll. I was less enamoured with the mains – a nutty zucchini linguine and a zucchini lasagna – but they redeemed themselves with a black rice, avocado and seaweed rice bowl with a spicy wasabi dressing. The menu was fresh, delicious, visually appealing and, while not the most innovative, did not resort to using meat substitutes like many places do. I could seriously see myself eating vegetarian on a regular basis if all restaurants served vegetarian food this tasty (and healthy).
