Oh my, stopped at mimosa mall for breakfast and I have never experienced such a slow service. Took about 30 min to get a serious cappuccino, a hot chocolate and five roses tea.Now to get my meal, I literally had to ask the waiter to check. We arrived here at 10. It’s 11.17 and my food hasn’t been served. Cooked oats, low carb breakfast, tropical breakfast and a ham and cheese sandwich. I don’t think 4 plates should take that long to be made.

Food app delivery orderMugg&Bean Mimosa Mall branch – Moroccan Butternut & Chickpea salad is not prepared as per menu specifications – roasted butternut, spiced chickpeas, candied walnuts, cherry tomatoes, Danish-style feta cheese, green onions & mixed lettuce, served with honey mustard dressing. They do not roast the butternuts – more like steamed. The walnuts are raw and not candied and because of this the honey mustard dressing tastes bad with the salad, it has an awful aftertaste.I would recommend if they wish to keep serving it like this that they rather serve it with there signature poppyseed salad dressing instead – which is always a winner with any salad.I had the salad at M&B Showgate Centre Total branch for the first time and loved it. But unfortunately the Mimosa Mall branch just doesn’t get it right – very disappointed.

We didn’t have a great experience here. The waitress went off to find out whether there were bran muffins. She never returned but half an hour later, by the time my tea was getting quite cold and unpalatable, we complained that none of us had received our orders. She apologised, saying she was waiting for the muffins. Although lovely and fresh when it arrived, we would have preferred a bit of communication. Had we known they were still in the oven I’d probably have chosen something else. It’s frustrating sitting around wondering what’s taking so long. The manager knew we complained but didn’t bother to come over. Usually we find M&B great, so maybe there’s a management issue here.

I had to stop at one of the Mugg & Bean’s on a South African road trip for breakfast. Don’t ask me where it was exactly but I first noticed the ambience. It’s cozy and nice, rather heart warming. You feel like ordering a huge mug of hot chocolate and curl up with a book and not leave ever. The stewards are friendly and fast. I mean they really look after you here. What I know now with South Africa is that this lifetime is so not enough if you want to try out all the rest stops in the country. It reminds me of another time and place and it’s something I yearn to be back for. This also goes for all the Mugg & Beans in the country and to try every dish on the menu especially the burgers, salads, generously filled croissants, cakes and the South African farm breakfast. We were in a hurry so we did order the M&B On The Go breakfast and coffee. This particular breakfast platter has toast, bacon, tomatoes and eggs done just the way you like them. If I had more time here, I would have loved to try out something else even one of those gigantic slices of cake that Mugg & Bean is famous for. To me this is like home. I like that you get free refills before 11AM. As I said I need more than a lifetime in South Africa to absorb this gorgeous place and its eateries.
