I loved my breakfast at Paoletto this morning. They are known for their Belgian waffles so we ordered one with bacon and it didn’t disappoint. I tried the Paoletto breakfast which came with brown toast, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, 2 cheese grillers, 2 potato hashbrowns and 2 slices of tomato. I enjoyed my meal and my cappuccino. There is a kitsch feel to the restaurant with lampshades for lighting and funny Italian sayings mounted in picture frames on one of the walls.

Lovely spot for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. Food is well prepared and well priced. Only reason why I haven’t given it a 5* is due to the staff being a slight tad ‘confused’. Highly recommend it.

My gosh! If I had to tell you about a real find, a real gem, a real must try spot – I would tell you about PaolettoCafe. This little spot in Edenvale is a real little gem. I am sure I have driven past it a few times without even noticing it. It’s down one of the small streets in Edenvale, opposite a church and close to a school. It used to be a waffle store but the new owner, Gianfranco decided to add a bit of his own families famous Italian meals to the menu. Before we ate, I had a delicious latte. We had a little bit of two of his most popular waffles. The first was the chicken curry waffle combo. Yes you read right. This was probably one of the best butter chicken curries I have had. Served in a small portion together with sambles, banana, chutney and the famous waffle. The waffle was light and it wasnt a sweetened waffle, so it made for a good base to the creamy butter curry. The second popular option we had was the Italian bolognese with parmesan cheese and a cheesy bacon and mushroom sauce. This was rich and really unhealthy, but worth every bite.Gianfranco insisted we try two of his favorite pastas. The Alferdo and the gnocchi. Both were such generous portions, we decided to have it as a take away.Making sure we had enough space for dessert, we had the sweet waffle served with strawberries, Nutella, caramelized banana and bar one sauce. The restaurant is doing a bit of renovations. Should be ready for summer. The owner is really friendly and all the waiters had big smiles on their faces and were extremely helpful. I would definitely come back here with mom one day. It’s charming and sweet.

I have enjoyed breakfast twice at this cafe. The shabby chic decor is a nice touch. I ordered a waffle which was amazing on the first occasion. Light with the right amount of crisp and soft. The second occasion disappointingly the waffle was much too hard. The service is good and the pricing is reasonable. I will still give them another try as they are conveniently located.
