Visited here towards the end of last year for a different evening. The nice was enjoyable with fun and laughter. I don’t think would go back too much in a hurry as I have a feeling that the show is fairly standard. However, I will definitely try it again later in the year. The food was not bad for vegetarians other than the dessert which could do with much improvement – did not like the ice cream.

FANTASTIC spot in the heart of Bedfordview. Not only is the food a welcome break from what we have become accustomed to in cabaret theatre spots, it is also absolutely delicious. The decor is lush. Great friendly service, drinks were very well priced! BEST Sangria ever 🙂 The show was fantastic and so so funny! Will certainly be going back!
Oh dear, this was such a disappointment! The food was terrible! Don’t be fooled, I obviously had a different idea of Burlesque and this was not that!Let me begin. We had booked under the Dinner and a Show package at R200 each. This was to include a 3 course meal. Starter was a side plate of pieces of cheddar and mozzarella, cheap tasteless olives, a few pieces of cucumber, a quarter overly boiled egg (if you were lucky as I didn’t have this on my plate) a dollop of mayonnaise and cherry tomato halves. Mains was a choice of their 5 options off the menu. Beef schnitzel seemed like a safe bet. All mains are served with a small salad, roasted potatoes and a ‘vegetable tower’. By Vegetable tower I mean a few chopped up pieces of over cooked carrots. That was it. The schnitzel wasn’t crumbed properly and was soggy. It had absolutely no flavour. We had luckily ordered a sauce so our schnitzel tasted like mushrooms. Desert was a plate consisting of a bowl of crystallized ice cream (it was crunchy from the amount of ice), a little bowl of instant chocolate pudding and a slice of milk tart. What was so disappointing is that the venue has so much potential. There is decent space, it’s aimed at the bachelorette market which is always guaranteed to be successful. But with what we experienced on offer, this is not going to work, unfortunately. I can’t even talk about the entertainment as I was bored from an experience there under previous owners. The jokes are old. There is no substance. Make the effort and go to Illovo. Burgers actually do work.
