I’ve only been here once and it was a bit dissapointing. Service was slow and the waitress could care less to check up on us. Food is average, nothing to rave about.
Matsuya is an experience of it’s own. Do not come here expecting fine dining, but rather an oriental experience with a variety of Asian cuisine that is both tasty and a feast for the eye. Yes, they are priced a bit high and yes, their portions are a tad small (well to me in any case), but I always left Matsuya with a satisified and content feel. Be sure to get a seat at their counters where they prepare a mean Teppanyaki. My favourite is always the fillet and prawn, with fried rice and a glass of red. The show in preparation is always very entertaining and their staff is very friendly. Will go back anytime.
This was the worst over priced sushi I have ever had. The sushi rice was so compact and bland it was like eating tasteless clay. The management seems to favour their own and the sushi is as bland as water .Aloe drinks are sold at R40 per 500ml bottle and house wine at R30 per glass. Small portions of sushi are between R60 and R100 depending on type and standerd chinese and japanese dishes are extremely and pathetically overpriced to the blatant extreme. The proof is in the pudding. It’s a complete and utter disgrace!Ive been a sushi addict for over 13 years and this was completely disgusting. !
By far the worst service I’ve ever experienced, servers working the counter at a fast food joint would make you feel more welcome. We were taken to our seats only to wait to be ignored until we asked for someone to bring us a menu. Extortionate prices, the food was good (we got some sushi) but definitely not worth the price.Once again I’d like to add that the service for the entire evening was shocking.
This was my first time experiencing Teppanyaki and i was blown away. Although their prices are bit high the entertainment definitely makes up for it and the food is delicious too.I had a taste of the fried chicken, fried rice, noodles, veg and chili green beans, all of which were incredible. Great evening out and lots of fun!
