This restaurant has been going for about thirty years. In the good old days it was a lovely, busy, popular place to have a meal out. As the main road in Alberton became less safe at night other restaurants either moved or closed down. Kim Hua is still going but I don’t think anyone eats there and only go to pick up take-always. They still have the best Chinese food in the area and we’ve tried all of the others and always come back to Kim Hua. The food is flavoursome, big portions and tastes fresh. You can phone your order in and they will either deliver or you can collect.
New owners. Definitely not a place for a sit down meal but their take-aways have never disappointed, reasonable prices and good size helpings, I have ordered food from them for around 4yrs. Collect or delivery.
This restaurant has been around forever. I remember staring at their fish tank as a child. As the years have gone by, they have steadily decreased in quality. Not only that, they do not have the best location. It is becoming run-down and they are actually quite hidden. Their restaurant is barely visible from the street.Nevertheless, my family wanted to have lunch and we decided to give it a try. When you walk in, you immediately notice that the restaurant is outdated. I also noticed that they did not have a single diner besides us. In some places it is also quite cluttered. The actual food is not too bad. They are also rather quick with their food. We ordered a set menu which came with chicken soup, spring rolls, cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, deep fried prawns, crispy beef and it ends off with ice-cream and chocolate sauce. Each dish had memorable flavours and textures. They are not shy about their quantity size either. We were just about to leave having had an average experience, when a cockroach scurried past our table and onto our plates. Needless to say, that was it for me. I may have come back, solely for take out, but now, most definitely not.
I order from this place frequently. I wouldn’t recommend eating out here though because the food isn’t amazing. It’s just okay. They do prepare meals quickly though.
