I have been to the Bakery a number of times and have yet to have a bad experience. The food tastes amazing and the owner is friendly and takes pride in what he does. I would recommend this place every time!
Portions have become smaller, one telephone, long queues, service has dropped. No technology used to facilitate easy ordering. Disappointing because it used to be value for money and had a nice ambiance.
Dropped by for light Saturday lunch, we ordered the chicken melt sandwich and a chicken and mushroom pie. The sandwich was good and loaded with cheese and creamy blue cheese, I enjoyed the panini bread. The pie was stuffed with chicken and for only R20 it was definitely worth it, however it needs more sauce or gravy in it, as it can become dry after a couple of bites. I got a takeaway cookie dough brownie and baklava, the brownie was really yummy, something worth trying out.
We decided to give this place a try after an ad we saw on Facebook. I am a definite greek food lover and of course the temptation of souvla and all the trimmings was irresistible. It is situated in Jet Park and we went for breakfast. Setting was lovely and rustic and we got a warm welcome. We found out Souvla only gets served at 12 and decided on a toasted bacon and mozzarella for hubby and a club sandwich (special that day). Both sandwiches were on white bread but their home baked loaf not Albany. Scrumptious bread, generous fillings and fabulous fries! Drinks are Very cheap too. Owner? A lovey young lady came and had a chat with us and was very friendly. After our meal we just had to go and check out the baked goods. We bought greek biscuits, small tiropita and spanakopita phyllo triangles, a loaf of the divine white bread, a milk tart and a mini lemon meringue. All were top notch and the pricing on the whole is very good. We were very impressed! We have limited choice when it comes to something unique in Food with the market being totally monopolised by money hungry expensive and low quality franchises. For quality, good pricing, a great welcome and relaxed vibe don’t miss a visit. And of course we shall be back shortly for Souvla for lunch.
