Visited Sankayi on Saturday night – Had a total blast – Did not get to see the menu as we had already had dinner The fact that one had to order full bottles in order to sit in most areas put a slight damper on things – two people cannot finish a bottle of Jack Daniels – The music was wonderful though and the crowd attending were fun and lively. I will be back, without a doubt.
My two friends and I one of whom was visiting from the USA were harassed by the staff. The bouncer instructed that we be strip searched in a dark corner away from the cameras because his friend’s phone went missing while we were on the dance floor. The manager claimed to be sorry that he saw all of this happen but he never instructed it. My question is why would you allow it to happen if you knew that we knew nothing about it. I felt and still feel so violated, traumatised and sick to my stomach. My friend brought me to this place to celebrate my birthday for crying out loud. Their food was nothing to write home about. I am not a happy chappy.
if you are looking for a place that has african music (mainly west and central africa), Sankayi is the place to be.  Cover charge of R150 and drinks prices as high as it can be expected in an exclusive dance club.this club is mainly for the Africans that are home sick . Slightly older crowd to be expected at the club.
