Great buffet breakfast at this very upmarket hotel. Pastries were delicious and the hot buffet tasty and well presented. The pool deck is gorgeous and can’t wait to return in summer!
I had lunch at the Veranda restaurant at The Capital 20 West twice this week and although the food was good, the service was terrible. We waited over 45 minutes on both occasions for food, which was sandwiches and wraps. We also had to join 2 tables together to make enough space, which the manager noticed and didn’t say anything, he just moved some place settings around. When the food arrived they just placed any meal in front of anyone, taking no note of who ordered what. The Capital sandwich is however one of the best I’ve eaten, so if ever I’m back there for lunch, that’s what I’ll have but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Not a good advert for SA with international guests staying at the hotel who have to experience such shoddy service.
It’s something in its own league, the refurb has taken the location to new heights and food is to die for!!! The staff are rather friendly and they make a killer cappucino, almost Sandtons finest..keep it up ladies and gents!!
