The food was amazing! I did find that their kimchi here is more spicy than other korean restaurants. We also ordered korean bbq and they served it in a bigger portion compared to other places. Definitely will come back!
This is probably the best Korean restaurant in Johannesburg. Except it is not frequented by the local South Africans. This explains the popularity behind Banchan, the Korean restaurant in Benmore – They set up the menu to make it more of a welcoming experience for newbies. This place is most frequented by Koreans followed by the Chinese. And as I said, could be a foreign and not so friendly experience for the unaccustomed.Having said that, the side dishes are consistently plentiful, delicious and refilled when requested. The quality of the mains is also top notch, for South Africa.
It was really good food and the vibe is really chilled but it’s a bit pricy compared to other places. still would 100% recommend. I ordered 삼겹살/ pork belly and it came with lettuce and something else which were such a great match! The owner was very sweet to us and the waitress had great service, we waited for 10 minutes or so for the food but I didn’t mind because it was worth it at the end
Out of all the Korean restaurants that I’ve tried in Joburg – I have to say that this remains one of my favorites. I have been a regular at this restaurant for the past.. 5/6 years? The food continues to impress and satisfy me each time I go. The service is also rather fast and the staff is extremely friendly. They also have complimentary WiFi although one would need to request for the password from the waitress. Additionally , one is also given complimentary and traditional Korean starters (the portion sizes are relatively small) and complementary iced coffee and fruits at the end.Dishes which I would highly recommend would be the spicy rice cake, stone rice and marinated beef. Furthermore the seafood soup served and Korean sushi is also worth trying.
