This was months ago, during winter and the sardine run, but have to give them a big shout out. Masala fried sardines, with rice and dhall, total taste sensation.
At the beginning the food was excellent and now I just received a mutton bunny and a chicken curry that tasted appalling. The curry is overpowered by a spice that tastes as if it was not cooked through completely. Really disappointed and will definitely not be back.
I had a hankering for a Lamb Bunny so decided on visiting as recommended by others on a FB group. Was everything I had hoped for. Went in at about 13:00 to a fairly busy establishment – a good sign. Not too big but spacious enough with a wash basin as well.Ordered a 1/4 Lamb bunny which is a bit steep at R95. It took a a few minutes to get to me but it was well worth the wait. This bunny was slightly larger than other places and as you can see there was no need to ask for extra gravy, this bunny was overflowing.Bread was proper fresh, curry had great colour and thickness, balanced flavour and not too hot (karou). Accompanied by melting potato and tender pieces of lamb with a few boney pieces – really didn’t mind this.Only 2 things I could critic was the amount of curry leaves in the curry and the vinegar from the salad made a part of the bread soggy. Other than that it was a fantastic meal.Would highly recommend this place and definitely taking my family when in the area.
