Today ladies lunch was at The Courier. We started by sharing 2 cheese fondues between the 12 of us as a starter – and there was plenty. The fondues are huge and delicious, although the taste of the alcohol was stronger than I expected. I followed with the avocado chicken with almonds and a potato rosti. Again it was delicious but I had to get a doggy bag as the portion was big and I’d stuffed myself with cheese fondue and I still needed dessert. A few ladies had eisbein which also regained great reviews, and most of these meals were also taken home. The desserts were amazing, incredibly well plated. I had the creme brulee which came with the extra bonus of spun sugar on top, but the best dessert as voted by the ladies was definitely the Swiss chocolate. Our waitress Thando was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this spot – especially for delicious winter meals.
We had a company conference here over a two day period. The first day a light lunch was served which was really good with pies, samoosas, chicken, sausages etc. I was catered for very well being a pescatarian. Our choice for dinner was also quite delish which was a braai option served with yummy salads papa/mushroom sauce and to end of with a a winter dessert in summer – nevertheless which was good. Our light breakfast which was mainly sweet, then tea time sandwiches and lunch which was also yum.I will recommend this venue for conferences etc however the security needs to be improved as one of my staffs Ranger was stolen on the first night.
Superb fondue! Thank you for your wonderful service and making my day, by satisfying my craving for an authentic Swiss cheese fondue, on a cold day. I called that morning to ask and order the cheese fondue, which you willingly accommodated. When I arrived, I wished for a meat fondue and you whipped that up too! Our waitress was fantastic, our hostess accommodating and the food- freshest of fresh. Absolutely delicious and one of my best Sunday afternoons to date.
Had lunch at The Courier on Saturday. I used to frequent the Swiss Club years ago before The Courier moved in. The club itself has changed quite a lot and looks more modern now. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and I cannot understand why. The food was fantastic. We had the Rindsgulasch, Zürcher Geschnetzeltes and Jägerschnitzel respectively. Opted not to have the knödel with the gulasch which meant all 3 dishes were served with spätzle. The food tasted authentic and didn’t disappoint. A small selection of vegetables accompanied the main courses and I appreciated that the dishes were served hot. Felt that we received value for money and will certainly return.
Tucked away in Kyalami Hills, this venue offers amazing food, at decent prices and an amazing setting. Snails starters was a generous portion and served like I’d never seen before. Generally quiet, huge seating area and a garden with jungle gyms for kids. Although the beer is cold, there is only one available on tap and cocktails take a while to arrive. Overall, a good experience. Pash Nair
