Good restaurant, can do much better than this. Service was slow, seems like the waiters doesn’t have courage or feel to serve us. Bit moody but the food made up for that. Ordered butter chicken and it was very good. Overall a good restaurant has got lot of potential but require proper management.
I feel this place deserves 4 rating with a little attention to detail. The service was a bit confused but extremely friendly! the food was tasty! A bit of attention to the desired cooking degree would have made it better. Also they should follow the menu, if a dish is described a certain way it should arrive the same. Bread was complimentary but not fresh. Pity it’s such an easy thing to fix and changes the whole experience. Best surprise was the mushroom tandoori! I’ll come back for that dish.
We were excited to try a Masterchef restaurant and the menu looked great – familiar, welcoming dishes with a delicious Indian twist. We were there on a quiet Sunday night. However, with only 2 other tables occupied, we were disappointed with the slow service. The mixed reviews we’d read started to make sense – slow, but friendly, service. Yawning chef not covering his mouth, but delicious food. My butter chicken pizette (which is NOT a starter! It’s a normal medium-size pizza and should be under the Pizza section of the menu, not on Pg 1) was YUMMY. Chef Obert was super! However, our biggest disappointment – and the reason we won’t be back – is that when my partner asked for some balsamic vinegar it arrived in a little glass jug with 2 dead flies floating on top. Unacceptable for a restaurant claiming to be this calibre.
02.11.2018 My friend and i decided to give Aarya a try. It’s been open for quite some time but i have always had reservations about this place due to the mixed reviews. I am normally one to try a place regardless of reviews, but it has taken longer than usual to get here. It was a friday night, and it wasn’t as busy as expected, yet it is situated at the Hotel by Montecasino. They have a decent variety on their menu, and i didn’t see too many Indian options. Our waitress was lovely, but right now her name slips my mind as i should have written this sooner, she was attentive and friendly, service with a smile always goes a long way. For starters i had the Salt and Pepper Calamari, and my friend had the Mussels. My Calamari was good, great portion size yet slightly chewy, and i loved the sauce that came with it. My friends Mussels, were cooked to perfection, but the sauce was a bit of a let down, as the wine taste was a bit harsh and not cooked through. Portion size was also good and the side portion of bread was a great addition. We ordered a drink each, and at least i can say they also passed with my Cosmopolitan. It was good and not badly priced. Mains, i couldn’t resist ordering the Butter Chicken Curry, as i have always seen fellow foodie friends rave about this. This was served with a delightfully soft Roti, and some . Portion size, again was good, the chunks of chicken were a bit big, but the taste was there, and it had a slight kick to it which was nice. My friend ordered the Salmon with fries, and asked that the skin be Crispy it came rather limp, and a decent size piece of fish. We didn’t have space for dessert, and i was rather impressed with the food. My only gripe is the limp greenery (Dhanya) used on all the dishes for decor, they can give that a skip. Will definitely consider going back and trying a few more dishes. #TheFoodMusketeer#TheFoodMusketeerEats#TheFoodMusketeerDrinks#TheFoodMusketeerApproved#TFMAarya
