Reading the reviews of the place before writing mine, I am grateful for a good experience! Granted I haven’t been here for awhile so my review is almost like a throwback – perhaps quality and standards have changed as it seems places like these, do over the years which is sad, but I can honestly say that when I used to frequent this place, we had no bad experience in terms of quality of food and service. Our favourite is always the kashmiri flavoured prawns and we tend to buy the platters or those options where you add to the meal – love the garlic bread and the chips!!

The first thing that hits you is the hoard of waiters at the door. The stares are unbearable and quite intimidating. We asked for a table outside and were quite surprised that the place was practically empty. What you see as you approach is very different from what is on the inside of the restaurant. The waiters (including ours) come across as nervous and this unsettles you as a customer. We placed our orders and decided on a feast for 2. Drinks were brought on time. And then there was the food. 1. It was anything but impressive. Looks good but absolutely tasteless. It tasted like nothing. An entire platter!! 2. We asked for a variety of sauces which the food was to be prepared in and for a peri peri sauce on the side but were given a lemon butter garlic sauce which was already in all the fish. 3. Prawns – the worst. Extremely small and tasteless. 4. Calamari was rubbery and overcooked 5. The chicken strips were tender but the portion left much to be desired 6. There was no fresh lemon served with the meal and this is a SEAFOOD restaurant. When we asked for takeaways, the waiter wanted to dish the food into containers at the table and we asked for it to be done in the kitchen and the waiter STILL dished up some items at the table. The supervisor/manager very nervously came to ask if all was well. She really looked scared. Overall this was a really bad experience, and we wouldn’t come back here. This branch didn’t live up to the Jimmy’s reputation. A lot needs to change.
