What has happened, been a 20 year client, now eisbein is served cut up into bite size pieces, with very little crackling, normally as a special request, it’s cut in half, this could arise from communication from the incredibly bad waiter, yet the place is full, not many eating eisbein, however the management was friendly, we eventually just ordered from him. he explained that this was the norm.He also said he would bring it to inga’s attention, and that’s where it ends, I’m going to miss this place. Unfortunately the food isn’t great and very far from being authentic German food. Ordered a Wurstsalat and got some cut sausage on a bed of lettuce. Good selection of beer.

Delicious food and friendly staff and authentic atmosphere. A great way to spend our Sunday. Was too full for the Apfelstrudel this time round so will have to go back again☺

I have quite a soft spot for Die Kneipe as I used to be a waitress there in my varsity days, and subsequently spent a lot of time there with friends and awesome regulars. However I hadn’t been back there for years, and under new management the pub seems like it’s still doing well, and it’s even slightly homelier now with the hand painted mural on the wall, super friendly owners and live music acts. It still has a slightly dingy old pub vibe going but that’s what adds to the atmosphere. It’s not a great place for first dates, but it’s definitely great for get togethers with friends and family. My boyfriend ordered the Pork Schnitzel, which used to fall off the plate because it was such a huge portion. Unfortunately it has shrunk in size, but it’s still quite a decent portion and it’s still quite tasty. I had the Geschnezeltes which had an amazing creamy mushroom sauce, but unfortunately the pork was a bit tough, and it had obviously been standing waiting for a while (the service was quite slow). We didn’t get the apple strudel dessert but from past experience it’s definitely a winner.
