We chose the good luck bar for our year end function. They set it up like a Food market with the food vendors from The Sheds. We had gourmet hot dogs, wraps, chicken strips, burgers and waffles. All the food was a hit and the bar area was awesome for dancing and socializing. Highly recommended for a year end function!
Everytime I go to Goodluck Bar, I am reminded of how diverse and great a place it is to be. You come as you are. The vibe is amazing, especially when the place is packed. The food is great, especially because you might be moving around and bumping into other friends across the bar. Located in the heart of the city, this is the place to be!
I was pretty disappointed with the food and drinks at The Good Luck Bar. We came early for the 80s party and decided to grab a few drinks and a bite to eat before it turned into drunken chaos. Unfortunately our waitress informed us that their were no cocktails served at the bar, so we just stuck to normal drinks. We then ordered a Nibble Platter for two. For R150 I did expect more than two portions of everything, but I thought the food must be really delicious if they’re giving you so little. I was wrong. The chicken wings were dry, the spring rolls were bland and tasted like they were bought frozen from pick n pay, the corn fritters were just doughy flavourless balls and there were no jalapeño rissoles as promised on the menu. The ribs and chips were ok, and the best thing on the platter was the dipping sauce. I think maybe it’s a safer option to stick to their pizzas. My aunt ordered a dessert of amaretto ice cream with amaretto biscuits. It was so bad we actually had to send it back. The ice cream seemed as if it had been left open in a freezer full of other food for way to long, as the taste and texture was awful. It was also drenched in a gloopy sickly sweet butterscotch sauce. The manager was nice enough to send it back and not charge us for it though.Overall it’s a lovely venue and the parties there are awesome, just eat beforehand or stick to their pizzas to avoid disappointment.
Although the food menu is extensive – I would rather recommend you stick to the bar! A great venue for drinks and awesome industrial space to quench a thirst.
Came here for drinks and it is one of the most beautiful spaces I have seen in a while, completely fell in love with the vibe. It was very quiet when we were there (we were quite early), but would definitely want to go back when there is a band or something to experience the full vibe.
