Authentic Belgian Waffles! Von Pickartz serves up some of the most decadent waffles that i’ve tasted in years, with a variety of toppings to choose from. Waffles are prepared right in front of your eyes and are always consistent no matter how many times you visit. Toppings include favourites such as Nutella, Crushed Oreo or even some fresh fruit. Von Pickartz is without a doubt the go-to place for waffles every time.

Based on an internet article, we made our way to Maboneng to smash some waffles. Closed. Closed down. WHAAAAT??? A quick Google search and we found a telephone number, where the owner alerted us that they had moved to 1Fox. So onward we went in search of waffles! They were worth the extended travel time. We ordered one with strawberries and another with some nuts of sorts. They were great! We order some stuffed waffles for take-away to feed the rest of the fam. My preference, is to have the waffles with fresh toppings, as the stuffed waffles are a bit much for my liking. But worth the trip to 1Fox, for sure!
We got the Petit 4 pack – salted caramel & nutella waffles dusted with powdered sugar. Mmm mmm! Definitely a sweet treat! Nice bite-sized portions and fresh, fluffy, crispy waffles. Eat them right away, no one likes a soggy waffle! The venue is adorable and the staff are very serious about waffles, which is cool. Definitely worth a try! 🙂
