I have been eating Akhals since I was a child. The food is consistent and always good. The soya special remains my favorite. I look forward to my trips to Mayfair to go and have a dose of Akhals.
Absolutely love their toasted sandwich specials! The best Akhals branch by far, the ultimate cheat meal. The wait can be a bit long so make sure to order in advance.
This place is a Joburg institution. My dad’s been bringing me to akhals for as long as I can remember. You can’t go wrong with the toasted steak special. It’s crispy. Full of slap chips, cheese and a thin layer of shredded masala steak. It’s fantastic. The fish and chips or a frikkadell burger are great too.
