Reviews do not do this place justice .no matter what I write it will never live up to the awesome phenomenal experience of this place. The decor and setting is mysterious and fits the ambience .the food experience is truely gastronomic and every serving has been put together with careful thought . Well worth the cost of the evening and such a great experience in the heart of the city.
Stunning restaurant that used to be a toilet more than 100years ago for travelling men. Great ambience and we loved the belly dancer. Food was delicious, even though some the flavours were not to our taste. Service and attention to detail was outstanding. A definite must try experience.
Wonderful setting in a heritage gentlemen’s bathhouse. The venue is filled with gorgeous period pieces from deco to Georgian and Victorian all of which work together. The choice of background music adds to the mysterious vaudeville ambience! The food – of the Heston molecular gastronomy type – is wonderful, whimsical and flavourful! While it doesn’t have the adventurous nature of Dario Est Est Alle or the finesse of Chantelle at Restaurant Mosaic the food is sublime in its own rustically presented way. The downside for me was the cheesy belly dancer, and the forced audience participation. Not the time and place Arthouse! I’d far rather you went full on vaudeville and presented a high class show, or waiters dressed to the burlesque nines! On the whole I adored the evening and will most definitely be back!!!
Finally got to try this lovely restaurant during restaurant week and it didn’t disappoint. Finding it was a little challenge but it is steeped in history and mystery. The decor is amazing and the restoration of what was there before very well done and incorporated into the aesthetic. Food wise I enjoyed everything we had from the popcorn to the deconstructed Wellington and dessert. Belly dancing and the welcome was amazing.
