This spot is all about ambiance! Mature and diverse crowd plus authentic jazz! Food was surprisingly okay making it an unexpectedly good find in the middle of Braam.There is a R180 cover charge and I’d advise booking so you have a nice table with view of the stage. Take a turn, I’ll certainly be back.
The VIBE at this place is phenomenal. I went on a Thursday night for a live show and Langa Mavuso was performing. I am still in awe. He was great. The crowd was great.The one thing Zomato reviewers got right regarding this establishment is their service. It could be faster. I had to ask for my tea cup to be removed. Waited even longer the food order but food came shortly after my order went in.I had the baklava cheesecake which was very interesting. Loved the pork belly.Weirdly enough the alcohol orders were quick. My mates always had their wine glasses full.The oxtail and lamb special was a hit.It’s a must try. More for the vibe. Look out for events on their social pages.
The music is what makes this place great, however the service needs some improving. Cool Joburg vibe upstairs, but downstairs feels pretty impersonal. Not a top choice as far as restaurants go, but the live jazz would make one want to come back.
I’m really into steaks. Had another steak at this awesome jazz club. Loved their steamed veggies and the meat was juicy and not too raw. Will miss coming here for classic soulful jazz session. Worth a bite before it closes shop
