Hidden Gem which takes me back to my childhood! The best hot beef on rye in Johannesburg. The latkes and blintzes are absolutely divine. Will definitely be back!

Had lunch today Nathan’s Deli with my mom. I had the Falafel Salad, she just had a toasted cheese (which she said was very good) but enough about the toasted cheese!! The salad was unbelievably good!!! The tahina dressing was out of this world- the only tahina I’ve said I’d eat was what my Israeli uncle makes.. this tops that. The falafel balls themselves were some of the best I’ve ever eaten – a close second to what I’ve had in Israel. Service was excellent, food was outstanding and presented beautifully!! I will definitely be back!!!

Brunch at Nathan’s Deli was a delight. The Greek omelette (spinach, mushroom and halloumi cheese) was freshly made, not oily and with plenty of filling. It was also well priced. My companion had a slice of carrot cake. She loved the macadamian nuts but thought the cake lacked sweetness. It looked beautiful. Cuppacino is especially well priced and was most enjoyable. I was impressed with the decanter of cold water with lemon brought to the table after I asked for water. I often ask for a glass of water with my food and it is so often forgotten. Details are important. I loved the decor and although situated within a grocery store, one is located completely away from the shopping vibe. Truly love the set up. Service was excellent and all together a great experience.
