About
Bread & Roses is cafe and a bistro. The owners are a couple who live in Melville, so 100% from the hood, although Julia is French and Ishmael is from Zimbabwe! Everything is homemade and cooked on order. We bake our own bread and deserts. Our moto is simple, fresh, delicious! The menue changes with the seasons and offers lots of healthy and vegetarian options. We have become popular for our unusual breakfasts such as the Spicy Egg Frittata with Chorizo and Pancetta, the Salmon Potato Cakes, or the Decadent Eggs Juliette. We offer a selection freshly squeezed juices. We have a short, but interesting and very well priced wine list! Come check us out!Details

Although they serve food, we never tried anything. It shuts early so its really on a lunch or snack eat, but the service is very friendly and good value for money.
Clue is in the title. Cannot recommend this place enough. Great breakfast spot. Just do it. I would even make a special trip to Melville just to eat here. Cool place to shop too.
Enjoyed a late Saturday morning breakfast before wandering around the area. Service was very good and food tasty. Nice vibe and made to feel at home. Had a few interesting breakfast choices on the menu. Prices reasonable.
A pleasant corner restaurant. Chocolate milkshakes and Caesar salad. Acoustics were on the loud side, but otherwise a very nice place for lunch.
