If I Could I Would Rate This Place A Zero. First And Last Time Ever Buying “Food” Here. Can’t Believe I Was Sooo Excited To Dig Into This CHEESESTEAK Bun Which By The Way Cost Me R75 Only To Be Met With So Much Disappointment. No Cheese Appeared In This Scene, Taste Took A Vacation Too, Felt Like I Was Eating Boiled Tasteless, Undercooked Meat Put On A Huge Not So Fresh Bun And The Presentation Was Appalling.I Will NEVER Recommend This Place Even To My Worst Enemy.
I first discovered the place on UberEATS and after ordering from the app twice, decided to go there physically. Great decision and haven’t stopped going since. The value for money proposition is very high and it’s well placed at 27 Boxes. The service is near immaculate and the decor is fantastic. The food is well above par, especially for the price. Very recommendable.
It is going to be difficult to be nice about the place but I will reach deep and find something. I ordered the cajun chicken strips. Six strips arrived. There was nothing notable about them. You can find them anywhere they sell booze. But usually they are fully cooked. I was chewing the third one when I noticed its soft, slimy texture. I chewed once again because, you know, for the benefit of the doubt, but it just confirmed that the chicken was just this side of done. I went to the staff and said that while the chicken was very tasty, I unfortunately had a strip that was underdone. Now this is the reason for my complaint. Never mind the raw chicken, and even though I have just come out of a bout of food poisong with a high fever and everything, I still tried to keep a calm head.The chef looked at me, then at the piece of raw chicken on my plate, turned, and said that it wasn’t raw. That is how they cook it, he said. The cashier came to his rescue, a woman who responded swiftly, taking the plate off my hands and offering to cook me up a new batch, which I am eating now. I may like to live dangerously but I can’t tolerate bad service. The one star is for the chef, both for his skill, and his inadequacy in dealing with customers.
A franchise based on the classic American Cheese steak. Also does burgers and shwarmas. I tried a classic cheezewizz. It was decent. The steak meat was a little salty for my tastes, but still enjoyable. It was a little light on the cheesewizz. Prices are average for this sort off establishment and they seem to have regular specials.The restaurant is mostly high counters and tables with bar stools. It’s setup for take away or a quick bite. It is quiet nice to sit at the balcony and watch the traffic bellow, but it is exposed to the weather and will not be very pleasant to hang around if the weather is poor.Overall, it’s okay. Decent value for you’re looking for something other than burgers and pizza, nothing special.
