A great, vibey place. Especially nice to watch big sporting events at. They have a typical pub menu and their food is good! Very reasonably priced! Their service is a bit slow and shabby, but wouldn’t expect more.
Pirates grill is a great pub in Joburg. They serve proper bar food which suits the vibe and is what you’re probably going to be in the mood for if you’ve gone to watch the rugby, cricket or soccer – nothing fancy but it’s got all the basics. They have the Jozi Market on Sunday which is a great family vibe.

Baskets and jam jars, what more can be said? Absolutely delicious. The halloumi was a bit dry and needed sweet chilli sauce, but other than that it was good. The Berry Surprise jam jar really was a surprise, not sure what is in it but it has a kick
Had a beef prego before the rugby yesterday. I’m not sure there’s anywhere else that can compete with the prego sauce at Pirates. Soooooooooo delicious!!!! Chips were also great and the roll was really fresh. Yum!
