The Countess was unbeknown to me until I heard it won the Best burgers of Joburg award for 2019 . So I had to give it a shot. Situated in the trendy 27 Boxes in Melville , I decided to give it a try with my family on a Saturday evening. It wasn’t bustling but after speaking to our waitress I was told that to really soak up the atmosphere is best to go on either a Friday evening or Saturday afternoon. Probably good to book in advance. Nonetheless upon entry we were pleasantly surprised with a shot of complimentary Sangria .Naturally it’s burgers what we came for, so it’s burgers what we ordered.. and we were pleasantly surprised . The chilli burgers were awesome, tasty and packed a good punch , accompanied with thick hand cut fries were made to perfection. My kids equally enjoyed their chicken burgers. If I have to criticise the menu then it should be perhaps more burgers options , which included lamb & ostrich.The friendly pleasant service we received from our waiter was top notch, coupled with a pleasant visit from the owner ! On the whole a wonderful experience which will no doubt bring me back !

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and had a lovely experience. Three of us ordered the Countess burger and one ordered the Truffle Mac and Cheese. Everyone expressed how delicious their meals were. Will definitely be back.
The food was all well made, I especially loved the ribs I had. The flavors just all went together. Even though my fries were a bit dry, I was really happy about my food and the service.
