18.12.2019 Finally got to try Momo Soko, Illovo, can’t believe it’s been open almost 2 years. We went here for a friends catchup before everyone goes on holiday.Sadly I wasn’t as impressed as i had hoped (as i loved Momo &O in Norwood) the menu has the same great options of food and Bao buns obviously, but they were not executed properly.I had the Salt n Pepper Calamari to start, which was a bit chewy. I then ordered a Chicken and Beef Bao bun. The chicken was so fatty/inedible on the outside, and some of my chicken wasn’t cooked properly. The beef one was ok.My friends enjoyed the Korean Spicy Chicken wings and the Firecracker Chicken, however the Spicy Kalbi beef was too salty. So a bit of a hit and a miss for all of us, and service was rather slow.Even though, we had a good catchup to ens the year.#TheFoodMusketeer#TheFoodMusketeerEats#TheFoodMusketeerDrinks#TFMMomoSoko

Momo Soko has incredible food and friendly staff. It’s also quite well priced. The service over all is lacking though. It’s slow and orders aren’t taken correctly 50% of the time. 5/5 for food and 2/5 for service.

I had a lovely dinner here with work colleagues :)We shared the twice-cooked ribs, beef pot-stickers, and vegetable spring rolls for starters. The ribs were DIVINE! A definite must-have!For mains, I had the Chairman Bao, which contains pulled lamb, and other delicious toppings. It was simply fantastic. I could eat that ever time I go to Momo Soko and never get bored! To drink I had the Turkish Delight Lemonade, which was so creative and tasty. The service was also fast and friendly, which always goes down well with me 🙂
